Dr. Phuah Teng Siang - C.E.O.

Dr. Phuah Teng Siang is an American born Chinese architect known for his work in designing some of the world's skyscrapers and various landmarks. In 1992, the American Institute of Architects (AIA) listed Dr. Phuah among the 5 most influential living American architects. One of his many awards includes the 1995 IRE Noble which recognizes a body of work of lasting influence on the theory and practice of architecture. Perhaps his most famous work are the constructions of the CN Tower of Toronto that stood as the tallest building in the world till this very day. He also designed the Athen's Olympic Stadium which held more than 500,000 people during the historical moment of the opening games.
After studying architecture at the University of Wollongong, Dr. Phuah completed his studies at the School of Architecture at the University of Cornell at Ithaka, New York. He started his career in the Manhattan architect firm, Builtolois in 1990 and later served as the dean of the School of Architecture at Yale University from 1993 to 1997 before decided to co-found CURTIN Engineering and Constructions (CEC) with Datuk Ivan.
On May 26, 2008, Yale University bestowed an honorary Doctor of Arts degree to Dr. Phuah for his work in Civil and Constructions.


Ir. Siah Kian Huat - Executive Secretary

Siah Kian Huat (born 26 April 1970), commonly known as Ir. Siah, is a Korean born Chinese architect, often called the father of creative architecture. Born in Busan, South Korea and raised in Beijing and Shanghai, Siah began his inspiration by sketching model towers throughout Seoul. In 2008 he moved to Egypt and enrolled in Garyounis University architecture school, but quickly transferred to the Al-Fateh University to study Civil Engineering and Architecture. After graduating, he met Datuk Lim Kok Wing of Malaysia and began working side by side to design The University of Lim Kok Wing which now enrolls creative geniuses in the world for Arts and Performing Arts.
Siah later spent ten years working with New York real estate magnate William Zeckendorf before joining CEC as the Executive Secretary. His work was vastly recognized after the construction of the Busan Airport as well as the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) which is now the busiest air strip in the world with flights to more than 500 destinations.

Datuk Nicholas Ivan - Managing Director and Co-Founder of CEC

Nicholas Ivan Petrus better known as Datuk Ivan was appointed Managing Director of CURTIN Engineering and Constructions in January 1998. He undertook his engineering training in London and qualified as a fully accredited IR in 1979. He begin working in numerous government and private projects specializing in trusses and concrete. Datuk Ivan then invested in a private university which is now known as Curtin University of Technology which provides engineering courses for local students living at the outskirt of Sarawak. He was granted 'Datuk' title at a tender age of 38 for his contribution towards the education field as well as his accomplishment in engineering throughout the nation. In 1998 he co-founded CEC together with other professional associates as well as retired engineer colleagues as a platform for aspiring graduates from Curtin University. With his leadership, CEC has become an aggressive and dynamic firm with a history of quality, on time performance and satisfied clients.

Ng Sheng Shien - Executive Director (Marketing)

Ng Sheng Shien also known as Ng is renowned for many international building projects which many of them are now the landmark of the countries. He was graduated from California Institute of Technology with First-class honors in Master of Engineering in Civil and Construction on 1997. He was hired upon graduation by the United Engineers Malaysia Berhad (UEM) to serve as senior consultant for government-related site projects.
He was heavily involved in various big projects especially in the field of bridges and towers. The involvement in the building of Johor–Singapore Causeway is one of the biggest achievements done by him as it is a bridge that connects two countries together. Penang Bridge which is listed as one of the longest bridges in the world is also one of the important projects involved by Sheng Shien as it is the first Malaysian government project that he had ever bid and won the tendering of the project for his former companies. He now serves as the Marketing Director of CEC as one of the top Board of Directors in the company.

Dermendhraselvanathan - Senior Project Director

Dermendhraselvanathan is also known by many as Dermen, is a French architect. He was born and raised in Toulouse, a city in southern France. Since Dermen was small, he was fascinated by high rise buildings and due to his good academic performance he was awarded a scholarship to study in the prestigious university in Paris. During his university years he excelled in his architecture studies, and he was also a rank student in the school of architecture. After completing his degree he stayed in the university to complete his Masters program. He was working there for ten years as a designer. He was involved in many major projects in Paris. He designed Le Marais a trendy right bank district. He is now involved heavily involved in CEC's multi-million projects as the Sr. Project Director.

Vincent Sia - Executive Director (Finance)

Vincent Sia was appointed a Director of CURTIN Engineering and Constructions (CEC) on 1 March 2010. He is a member of the APEC Engineer Register of Malaysia and holds a Bachelor of Engineering and Economics from the Lancashire University, Preston, United Kingdom. He joined KH Engineerings as a trainee in 1999 and was appointed the Head of Finance & IT in 2000. Thereafter, he held various positions including Director of Marketing Finance of Vibranation Constructions (2001-2004), Finance & IT Director of PETRONAS Holdings (2004-2007), Area Finance Director of the Middle East & Caucasus (MEC) (2007-2008) and the Head of Finance, Northern Europe Cluster (NEC) (pre-acquisition) prior to his assignment to CEC as the Executive Finance Director.
